There’s growing consensus that a high percentage of UK businesses haven’t yet implemented EU GDPR compliance strategies. One reason for this, it’s thought, may be the limited awareness of the legislation. Other companies are of the opinion that Brexit will help them bypass the necessity for compliance.

The fines if enforced, are exorbitant which may lead some to believe they’re unreasonable and thus unrealistic. But it’s not too far-fetched to imagine someone will be made an example of, come 28 May 2018.

On the other side of the spectrum, some UK businesses are throwing budget, resource and strategy into GDPR compliance. These companies are making GDPR their business. Setting up steering committees, hiring the Data Protection Officer and working in a cross-functional manner, these organisations are on track to hitting the deadline.

Whichever side of the fence you find yourself, The GDPR Roundtable Day will provide in-depth discussions led by those data champions who are leading the compliance strategies for their respective businesses. This means you’ll have a chance to ask the questions relevant to your own business and get real insight into what the forerunners are doing.

Featured speakers include

  • Angela Isom, Group Head of Data Protection Risk, JLT Insurance Group
  • Nailah Ukaidi, Information Governance & Assurance Manager, Walsall Council
  • Nina Barakzai, President and Chair, In House Counsel Worldwide/Group Head of Data Protection & Privacy, Sky
