National Lead, Government Digital Service
Helen Wall is National Lead for the Government Digital Service. She leads on GDS policy and strategy to champion digital transformation outside of Whitehall and manages a portfolio including the GDS Academy, a flagship programme for building digital capability and digital policy understanding across the public sector. Helen began her civil service career in Directgov and has spent the last 13 years working on cross Government digital programmes for a number of departments. She joined GDS in 2014 from Number 10, where she lead on several digital campaign strategies including the 2012 Olympics and the 2013 UK G8 Presidency. Helen has worked on some of the largest proactive and reactive Government campaigns to cross central and local government including the 2009 swine flu coordinated campaign strategy, DH Act FAST and the roll out of NHS 111.
